Advertising and Product Review
Laurel Plum Online is happy to help individuals and companies promote products that are relative to the site content or the readers.
There are several promotional options available for you to consider. If you have something in mind that you do not find listed here, feel free to use the same contact avenues to pitch your idea to me. Maybe we can work something out.
For a product review as a feature in an article:
If you are a PR firm or manufacturer, you may send me a copy of your press release and a sample of the product you would like to be featured.
If you are an individual or small business, you may send me a sample and a note giving me a little more information about the product, yourself and your company. It does not have to be formal, just clue me in as best as you can.
I will try out the sample. In addition I have a great group of clients, professionals, and personal friends that I frequently have help me test new finds. When possible I will get several of their opinions as well. Based on the resulting experiences, I will write an honest review of your product.
Please let me know if you will be offering additional samples to readers in the form of a giveaway. It will not alter the review, but it does help me determine the best format for the resulting article.
Advertising:
Advertisements can be placed on a week-by-week or month-by-month basis.
Banners and Images. There are several banner size and placement options available:
- Stationary 125×125 ad block, in the feature box above the fold (the three topmost ads), or in the right most sidebar
- Rotating 125×125 ad block, in the feature box above the fold (the second row of ads). For now, I am limiting these to 12 at a time.
- 190px max width, 250px max height in the right most sidebar
- 475px max width, 60px max height as a Current Sponsor under the first post on the site or at the bottom of the RSS feed (468px x 60px is most common)
- 475px max width, 60px max height as an Article Sponsor under articles already published.
- A reduced 125 x 125 ad block on the Sponsor’s and Advertisers Page
Text Links. I will be glad to place your link and your tagline at the bottom of articles. (Please, do not ask to have your link placed in the article). You can select:
- As a Current Sponsor either in the RSS feed, on the site under the most current article, or both.
- As an Article Sponsor under articles already published.
- As a Current Sponsor on Sponsor’s and Advertisers Page
Link Backs. The ads can link to:
- Your landing page
- To your blog or store
- To a specific product, page, or article
- No links
Further Considerations. I can only accept advertising from companies or products I feel I can legitimately support. I must also feel comfortable that you offer something that would match the interests or needs of the readers. I am willing to consider things that do not match the context of the site if they do.
I am also willing to cut a break to homemade things from ETSY shops and similar home based businesses, especially for those just starting out. Include your advertising budget when you contact me. If you need a banner made in order to advertise, let me know.
I prefer to limit flash ads and keep them below the fold. Using a flashy ad instead of a plain banner does affect ad rates and/or placement options. If you need a more simple banner made or want one to fit the scheme of the site, let me know.
