The Rubbermaid Premier Set Giveaway

by Laurel Plum

Rubbermaid

Win a 12 piece set of Rubbermaid Premier Containers

Jim Deitzel over at the Rubbermaid Blog was kind enough to let us have a set of Premier containers for our next giveaway of the week.

I have written about these before when we decluttered our food containers.  I received a set as a gift and liked them so much I bought a second set. Let me give you some more details about why I like them so much.

They are easy to open and the seal well.

They are sturdy. The containers do not melt or sag in the microwave or become brittle in the freezer like other containers sometimes do. They stand up to all of the rigors our family doles out on them without splitting or getting little cracks.

They are stain resistant. After a winter of soups stews and marinara sauces most of our other containers have an orange red stain but our Premiers still look almost brand new Even though I have had them for a year or two.

They stack beautifully. In general, square and rectangular containers use space much more effectively and are less likely to tip over than rounded bowls.  These go an extra step in both the cabinet and the refrigerator. The bowls nest very nicely so that a full set takes up just a fraction of space. One set can easily fit on a single shelf in the cabinet lids and all.

There was some clever designing that went into these everyday containers. The lids will snap to secure themselves to each other and to the bottom of the containers.  No more looking for lost tops. There are four sizes to the bowls in the set, but only two sizes to the lids. No more hunting for the right lid and almost getting it right.  You can secure all of the lids of each size to one another and then to the bottom of the stack of matching bowls. Then if you wanted to you can nest the smaller containers with their lids inside the larger containers. Because of the depth of the inset of the lid, they stack securely in the refrigerator, too. Several containers high. With other containers we have used, the top one would get nudged and come off the stack to spill everything else on the shelf.

To top it all, they have a limited lifetime warranty. So in the long run, they are much less inexpensive than the disposable variety.

Time for the rules again.  There are just a couple of little things you need to do.

  1. Leave a comment letting me know that you would like them.
  2. For anyone who wants extra entries, I will give two extra entries for anyone who tweets about this giveaway or passes it along. Just let me know in the comments that you did so. (You can follow me or use a #lpo hash tag so I can find it.)
  3. For more extra entries, I will give another extra entry to anyone who can share a unique or unusual way of using the containers around the house that we may not have thought of before.
  4. That’s it.  If you are new here, I would like for you to look around, but I will not ask you to subscribe. I hope you will, but that is not a condition for the giveaway.

You have until Tuesday the 24th at midnight (EST). Next Wednesday, I will announce the winning number.

And do not forget to comment on all of the other articles for this week since this is a full week of giveaways!

I need to start fresh with a coordinated set like this. I have an entire cabinet full of various bowls and tops…it takes much too long to match up.

What a terrific prize. I know I sure could use some new plastic containers, and the fact that they don’t stain when you put in tomato products, makes them even better! Count me IN!!

25 Summermouse March 24, 2009 at 12:02 pm

These would be so handy, but I think my husband would take them over and use then to organize the garage! Screws, bolts, etc. He’s OCD organized!

26 elrancho March 24, 2009 at 12:13 pm

I could think of great uses for these containers–we’re getting ready to have a baby and I could use them to hold pacifiers, baby socks…it seems like everything surrounding a baby is teeny!

They don’t stain? That would be awesome. It seems all of the containers I’ve picked up recently become dingy and stained. This would be great!

36 Marie N March 24, 2009 at 2:23 pm

I would love to win the Rubbermaid Premier Set. I’ve been trying to get by with a couple of storage sets I picked up at a local dollar store and as my mother use to say…you get what you pay for.

37 Davina March 24, 2009 at 2:33 pm

I’d love to win this as our plastic containers always seem to go missing when company comes over…

38 Stacy March 24, 2009 at 2:44 pm

I love to have these in our motorhome. No glass to break and shatter all over the place. The square ones pack nicely and take up less room which is a plus for space in an rv.

39 reva skie March 24, 2009 at 2:45 pm
