When the organizing bug strikes us, we want to do something right now. For many of us, something added that infamous last straw to push us into action. So you have had your last straw and today is the day you are going to dive in. Your home and your life are going to change for the better. Forever.

Before you don those work clothes to tackle that catch all room or the garage, can I talk to you just a minute?

Building your stamina and your momentum is important. Seeing a quick result is important. Over the years I have observed that many people that started getting organized only to give up tried to tackle a job that was simply just too big. They worked for hours without feeling they accomplished hours worth of results and for many various reasons chose to throw in the towel. They got burn out almost as quickly as they got motivated.

Each of the challenges in the LPO Scavenger Hunt will make a difference. They will not take much time to complete. They will help you to build on your momentum. They will increase your confidence, your self esteem, AND your stamina and resolve. You will be better prepared for those bigger jobs and to avoid burn out.

Before you start, grab a camera.  Take before and after pictures.  Keeping a pictorial journal for your decluttering accomplishments can be a big boost later on those days when you feel you are not making a difference.
